‘The mediocre teacher tells.
The good teacher explains.
The superior teacher demonstrates.
The great teacher inspires.’

Prime Minister, Mr. Narendra Modi interacted with students of 9 States via video conferencing across India to mark Teachers’ Day on Friday, September 4, 2015 including the students of our school.

He made a brief address paying tribute to the Former President Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan on his birth anniversary and released a commemorative coin in his honour. He also remembered the Former President, Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and his passion for teaching on this day. According to the Government’s report, the total number of students viewing the Teachers’ Day Speech was 7.63 lakh.

‘A good teacher can inspire hope, ignite the imagination and instill a love of learning.’

The Prime Minister responded to a candid range of questions during his 105-minutes interaction. The Prime Minister expressed the sentiments during his interaction with the students by saying, “Mother gives birth to a child, a teacher gives life. There must have been a great teacher behind the success of every great doctor, engineer or scientist."

‘A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops.’

P.M. cited the life experiences of Swami Vivekanand and the Former President Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam and said, “Once a teacher, always a teacher. A teacher never retires because classroom gives a sense of priority, a mission. We have to stop becoming robots. Unfortunately politics has acquired a lot of bad name. Talented people from all walks of life are required in politics.”

‘The best teachers are those who show you where to look, but don’t tell you what to see.’

P.M. inspired the students to dedicate themselves to welfare of all, to know themselves, then chart their destiny. He suggested students to read ‘POLLYANNA’ book.

‘Parents are facilitators, teachers are motivators.’

Summing up, he motivated the young generation saying, “Every year, everyone should take a vow to contribute at least 100 hours for teaching. There will be a difference soon. There is no dearth of talent in India. There is no recipe for success. Failure should be a stepping stone. Pledge to succeed and you will.”
