Why do we celebrate Janmashtami?
According to the scriptures
of Hinduism, Lord Krishna was born on Ashtami Tithi in Rohini
Nakshatra. It comes after Raksha Bandhan. According to astrological
calculations, on this day the Moon had reached Taurus and the Sun
in Leo.
It is believed that by
celebrating the birthday of Shri Krishna with reverence on this
day, happiness resides in the house. During this, the swing of Shri Krishna
is decorated in the temples. Devotees sing auspicious songs for the Lord
and offer him their favourite bhog. Let us tell you that Bal Krishna
likes Makhan Mishri very much. This is the reason that it is also
distributed in the form of Prasad.
Religious Significance:
A day before Krishna
Janmashtami, people keep a fast on Saptami and after the birth of Krishna
at 12 midnight, the aarti of Shri Krishna is performed by
ringing the bells and cymbals. After this, people express their happiness by
distributing prasad among their relatives and neighbours. After that
they eat their food. In this way, this festival is celebrated by keeping a fast
for the whole day.

Krishna is celebrated with great pomp all over the world. This festival comes
after Raksha Bandhan on the Ashtami date of Krishna Paksha of
Bhadrapada month. Let us tell you that Bal Krishna was the 8th

of Mathura city, was very tyrannical. It is believed that the son of Devaki
was born to end his tyranny. Earlier, King Kansa had killed 6
children of Devaki. Lord Krishna is the incarnation of Lord
Vishnu. And he was brought up in Gokul with Yashoda Mata and Nand
Baba. Since then, Janmashtami festival is celebrated every year in

to the reward.
Conclusion:
Janmashtami
is celebrated not only in India but also Indians living abroad with
great faith and gaiety. Shri Krishna has been the centre of our faith
since ages. Sometimes he is the apple of Mother Yashoda’s eyes and
sometimes he is the naughty Kanha of Braj. Hindus celebrate this
festival as the birth of Shri Krishna, an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.
When sins, tyranny,
malice and hatred increase more in the world, religion
begins to perish, gentlemen and poor sufferers are persecuted, then a great
power incarnates in this world and establishes religion. We should
follow the messages of Shri Krishna. Whenever there is an increase in suffering,
sin, incest and corruption in the world, some great power
is also born to eliminate it. That is why man should always be engaged in good
deeds.
“If you don’t
fight for what you want;
Don’t cry
for what you lost.”
--Shrimad Bhagwat Gita
