Report on Crisis Management
Depends on how you
take it.
You can either be
knocked down
By the undefined
crisis,
Or you can stand and
fight it.’
With the world going the difficult way and we
humans following the suit, it was time to deliberate on and learn how to manage
the crisis. The perfect ambience was created at Disaster Management Workshop
on Thursday, 27 August, 2015 at our school.
The workshop turned out to be an enthralling experience for all the attendees
as they got to hear the views of Mr. Mohit Bhala, the Vice President of Citi
Group India, Safety and Security Group, the Head of the Northern Region of
India.
From the interactive sessions; workshop and live demos to intelligent teachers sharing their views on how to manage crisis in school, the event saw a packed venue of enthusiastic attendees.
The opening session on ‘Role of Teachers in Crisis Management’ was led by the keynote speaker. He stressed on the fact that this is the age of transformation and that there is a definite need to define a ‘Strategy for Crisis Management’. He expressed, “Imagination is more important than knowledge.”
He asserted that risk holds the power, in a crisis inside or outside the
school, the teachers have a crucial role to play and
further added that time for half- measures is over. Confrontation of the
situation should be the rule.
He summed up the workshop by showing a video clipping of 1970s on Fire
Management. He mentioned, “Every little thing counts in a crisis. There
is no one-size-fits-all solution to the challenges facing our cities, only the
alert minds. We need to bring a revolution in our priorities, a re-evaluation
of our public life and a fundamental transformation of our way of thinking and
living. Be a prepared mind.”
The Vote of Thanks was proposed by the Primary In-charge by quoting, “Every crisis offers you extra desired power.”
