Birth Anniversary of Founder Father, Ch. Mitter Sen Aryaji
These were the thoughts of Chaudhary Mitter Sen Aryaji, the Founder of Sindhu Group of Institutions.
Remembering Ch. Mitter Sen Aryaji on His Birth Anniversary (15 December)
- Who was he: Ch. Mitter Sen Aryaji was the founder of Sindhu Group of Institutions and Indus Group of Institutions. According to the school’s tribute post, he envisioned an education that “liberates human beings from the shackles of ignorance, privation and misery,” combining modern learning with India’s cultural and traditional values.
- What the day means:
His birth anniversary is celebrated every year (15th December) by the
Sindhu schools as a “Founder's Day” — a time to remember his ideals, pay
homage to his legacy, and inspire students to live by his values of social
upliftment, education, and cultural continuity.
- How it’s observed:
On 15 December, for example, a special assembly was held, featuring
hymns and bhajans in his honour, speeches by students and staff about his
life and ideals, and even a blood-donation camp as a tribute to his
philanthropic spirit.
His vision of education: Aryaji believed that education should not just be academic — it must also foster moral values, cultural roots and social responsibility. His aim was to create institutions that balanced “modern education” with ancient Indian values, making students competent and conscientious citizens.
We all remembered our most revered Founder Father and seeked his blessings on his Birth Anniversary and tried to live up to his ideals and beliefs in upliftment of humanity in whatever capacity we can.
Chaudhary Mitter Sen Sindhu believed that Education should liberate human beings from the shackles of ignorance, privation and misery. Rooted in Indian reality and its composite culture, education has to play a dual role of being traditional and dynamic bringing about a fine synthesis between change-oriented technologies and continuity of Indian culture and tradition.
He had a great penchant for education. He believed in providing good modern education along with our age old traditions (vedic) and culture which became an essence of all Indus schools.
Today each and every one in Sindhu
Group of Institutions feels associated with him and is carrying that torch
of education.
