Inter School Debate on Constitutional Values
"We
will not be satisfied until justice rolls down like waters and righteousness
like a mighty stream".
Today
I, Anya Sharma, stand before you filled with deep emotions as I express my
gratitude for the profound significance of "justice" as the
foundation, the very essence, of the Indian Constitution. Within the fabric of
our democracy "justice" intertwines threads of hope, equality and
righteousness. It is in these sentiments where we discover the spirit of our
Constitution.
Dear
fellow mates, justice is not merely a term inscribed in legal documents. It is
an emotion that resonates within the hearts of millions. It beats at the core
of our democracy promising that every individual, from bustling streets like
those in Mumbai to serene villages like those in Kerala will be treated with
fairness and equity.
The
framers of our Constitution possessed wisdom when they recognized that justice
is not a mere word; it is an ideal that should permeate every aspect of our
society. When we speak about justice it extends beyond courts and legal
systems; it encompasses the dignity. Worthiness inherent, in every life lived
by an Indian citizen. It’s important to make sure that those who have been
oppressed, feel supported and that those who are marginalized, gain power.
In
this voyage we must always remember the sacrifices made to uphold the
principles of justice. It is the efforts of our freedom fighters, the pain
endured by those who faced injustice and the lives lost in the fight, for our
rights that have nurtured the foundation of justice within our Constitution. It
is their shared determination, unwavering devotion, to an India that continues
to fill us with inspiration.
Justice,
my citizens extend beyond the punishment of wrongdoers. It encompasses ensuring
opportunities for every child to thrive regardless of their background. It
involves empowering our women and safeguarding the vulnerable. Justice is,
about fostering a society where factors like race, religion, creed or gender do
not impede progress.
As
we commemorate justice as a value enshrined in our Indian Constitution, let us
wholeheartedly embrace this sentiment. Let us pledge, to champion justice
standing against any form of injustice wherever it may arise and keeping the
flame of justice alive within every Indian.
Let
us always remember that justice pulsates at the core of our democracy; it is a
shared commitment that unifies us all in our pursuit of a fairer, India.
Justice is more, than a word; it embodies our aspirations and enduring legacy.
Thank you for your attention. May justice forever prevail in our nation!
