English Poem Recitation Competition

 

A Very Pleasant Good Morning to All

‘Poetry is the way

Drenching the sea shore!

Poetry is lily

Poetry is rose.

Poetry draws the outline…

The cosmos forms…

Poetry paves the way…

Make us strong!

Poetry brings us together.’

 

With this let’s start the English Rhyme Recitation Competition.

Good Morning, the galaxy of your Excellency, invited judges, worthy teachers and my dear fellow mates. How different is this morning!

 

Dear Audience, you will yourself discover as the colours of the English Poem Recitation Competition unfolds.

 

Now I’ll introduce the revered judges for the day:

(1) Madam Monisha Pandey

(2) Madam Neetu Bansal

(3) Madam Minakshi Chhabra

 

Now I’ll share with you the Rules of the Competition:

  • ·        The numbers of participants from each section of Grade 8 are 2.
  • ·        Each participant will get 2 to 2.50 minutes to introduce themselves and the recitation of the poem.         

 

The participants will be judged on the following parameters:

  • Ø Introduction- 10 marks
  • Ø Confidence- 10 marks
  • Ø Expression & Intonation- 10 marks
  • Ø Memory & Time- 10 marks



“Painting is poetry that is seen rather than felt, and poetry is painting that is felt rather than seen.”

1.     Here comes our next contestant ARUSHI of Class VIII-E. The title of her poem is ‘FOREIGN LAND’.

“Poetry is an imaginative, awareness of experience expressed through meaning, sound and rhythmic language.”

2.  Now I would like to invite NISHTHA of Class VIII-F. The title of her poem is ‘GUILT OF PAIN’.

     {Thank you Nishtha for this beautiful poem.}

 

 

“A poem begins in delight and ends in wisdom.”

3.  Our next participant is JANYA of Class VIII-G. The title of her poem is ‘GIRL CHILD’.

     {Thank you Janya for this inspirational poem.}

 

 

“Put your ear down, close to your soul and listen hard. It is poetry.”

4.  Now I call SIMRAN of Class VIII-H. The title of her poem is ‘THE ROAD NOT TAKEN’.

     {Thank you Simran for this motivational poem. Give a big round of applause.}

 

 

“Poetry must be as new as foam and as old as the rock.”

5.  Here comes our next participant AASTHA of Class VIII-A. The title of her poem is ‘IF’.

     {Thank you Aastha for this inspirational poem.}

 


“Poetry expresses that which cannot be put into words and that which cannot remain silent.”

6.  Here is ANUSHKA of Class VIII-B. The title of her poem is ‘DEAD ALIVE’.

{Thank you Anushka for this unique poem. Give a big round of applause.}



“Poetry might be defined as the clear expression of mixed feelings.”

7.  Now I invite DHRUV of Class VIII-C to recite his poem. The title of his poem is ‘NIGHT OF THE SCORPION’.

     {Thank you Dhruv for this sweet poem. Give a big round of applause.}

 

 

“Only those who will risk going too far can possibly find out how far one can go.”

8.  Here I am inviting SWATHI of Class VIII-D. The title of her poem is                   ‘LIFE’.

“Poetry is an echo, asking a shadow to dance.”

9.  The next participant is RIDHIMA of Class VIII-J. The title of her poem is ‘THE SOULS PRAYER’.

     {Thank you Ridhima for this beautiful poem. Give a big round of applause.}


 

“Genuine poetry can communicate before it is understood.”

10.  I am inviting BHAVYA of Class VIII-A. The title of her poem is      ‘VOICES OF A TREE’.

         {Thank you Bhavya for this inspirational poem.}


 

“Poetry is the rhythmical creation of beauty in words.”

11.   Now is coming RAGHAV of Class VIII-B. The title of his poem is ‘DIMMING PLANET’. 

        {Thank you Raghav for this beautiful poem.}


 

“Poetry heals the wounds inflicted by reason”

12.   I am inviting HARSHIN of Class VIII-H. The title of his poem is ‘AN       INJURED SOLDIER’.

     {Thank you Harshin for this motivational poem.}
