World Kindness Day (13th November)
“Kindness in words creates confidence. Kindness in thinking creates profoundness. Kindness in giving creates love.”- Lao Tzu
World Kindness Day is celebrated every year on 13th November. The day is celebrated to highlight the good works in a community centred on the common thread of positive energy and kindness that unites us with each other. It is an opportunity to remind ourselves that we can spread more kindness and make the world a better place to live in. We celebrate World Kindness Day, a national day to celebrate kindness as a great virtue. We can do with more kindness in our lives- both received and given by celebrating and promoting good deeds and pledging acts of kindness, either as individuals or as organizations.
William Shakespeare - As You Like It - Your gentleness shall force more than your force move us to gentleness.
We as parents and teachers strive to inculcate compassion and empathy in students right from a very young age, to make them socially responsible and peace loving individuals. We constantly take initiatives to make the students KIND.
“Remember there’s no such thing as a small act of kindness. Every act creates a ripple with no logical end.”- Scott Adams
World Kindness Day is celebrated on 13th November. The Springdale School
brought a wonderful junior section school assembly based on kindness and
its importance. The assembly began with the Thought for the Day, Word
of the Day, News, General Knowledge Quiz, A short Poem based on Kindness
and a short play with the theme Kindness.
“Kind words can be
short and easy to speak, but their echoes are truly endless.”
The virtues of kindness are innumerable.
When students help others less fortunate than themselves, it provides them with
a true sense of perspective, highlighting their own good fortune. Being
generous helps them appreciate what they have, makes them feel useful, and
boosts empathy. The Principal of the school reiterated on the importance of being
kind towards our fellow beings and every species present on this earth.
“Be the reason someone smiles. Be the reason someone feels
loved and believes in the goodness in people.” ― Roy T. Bennett
