School Report on Grand Parents' Day
(A Salute to Our Roots)
'Nobody can do for little children,
what grandparents do.
Grandparents sprinkle stardust over the
lives of little children.'
Grandparents are a family's greatest treasure, the founders of a
loving legacy, the greatest storytellers, and the keepers of traditions.
Grandparents are a family's strong foundation. Through their special love and
care, grandparents keep a family close at heart.
“Love is the greatest gift that one
generation can leave to another.” -- Richard
Garnett
To honour them Pre- Primary section of the school celebrated Grandparents'
Day on 23rd November 2019 (Saturday). The morning was filled with
excitement and cheer as the kindergartners anxiously waited to welcome their
dear grandparents in the school auditorium.
The function commenced with the welcoming of the Chief Guest and the
Grandparents in 'Tilak Ceremony'. The Chief Guest for the day was Mr.
Rohit Sindhu, the Finance Head of Indus Public Schools across the country. The
kindergarteners stole everyone's heart by singing a melodious hymn 'Hey
Sharde Maa..Agyanta Se Hamein Taar De Maa'. The recitation of a Hindi poem
on Dada - Daadi and synchronized solo dance performances by our tiny tots left
the audience mesmerized.
A short summary of Ramayana by a child of UKG was exemplary and
made all the grandparents devotional. A few well planned, wonderful and
engaging games were organized for grandmothers and grandfathers individually and
some couple games- Name the Spices Games, Name Mobile Apps Game, Zodiac Sign
Games etc were fully enjoyed by the grandparents. The prizes were distributed
to the winners of these games.
“Everyone needs to have access both to
grandparents and grandchildren in order to be a full human being.” -- Margaret Mead
The grandparents shared their experiences of the day, and showered
blessings upon the school, staff and students. The Chief Guest appreciated the
good show presented by the students and highlighted the value of Grandparents
in our lives and philosophy of reverence.
The programme summed up with the distribution of a small copy of Shrimad
Bhagwat Geeta to all the guests.
“What children need most are the essentials that grandparents provide in
abundance. They give unconditional love, kindness, patience, humour, comfort,
lessons in life. And, most importantly, cookies.”
- Rudolph Giuliani
