School Report On Diwali Celebration
“The sun
does not shine there, nor do the moon and the stars, nor do lightning shine?
All the lights of the world cannot be compared even to a ray of the inner light
of the Self. Merge yourself in this light of lights and enjoy the supreme
Diwali.”
The
festival of lights- Diwali is celebrated throughout India and abroad with
immense splendour and grandeur. Marked across five days, one gets to witness
different colourful and lively varieties of diyas, bursting crackers and
firework, relishing sumptuous food, offering pujas, and wearing new clothes.
Not just about enjoying the numerous festivities, Diwali is all about
celebrating the victory of good over evil and light over darkness.
Celebrations
of Diwali commenced with lighting of diyas and puja. In order to add a twist to
the celebration this time, Diya Decoration Competition was organized by Cosmos
Public School for grades I to V. The students used their creative skills when
they beautifully decorated earthen diyas using poster colours, sparkles,
mirrors, ribbons, pencil shavings and other decorative material.The students
put on their thinking caps and decorated them with utmost neatness. The
competition prepared the students completely for Diwali by setting them in such
a mood.
Last but
not the least, the children of kindergarten also had the Rangoli Making
Activity in which they made beautiful Rangolis. Thus, everyone enjoyed the
wonderful day.
A special
assembly was conducted by students of grades VI - X to commemorate and
celebrate the auspicious festival of Diwali.
The
assembly commenced with a beautiful quotation on Diwali followed by
lighting of diyas. The students of Grade- IX presented Thoughts based on
the value of the month ‘Reverence’ and on ‘Diwali’. Thereafter,
students of grade VI - X presented an informative talk on Eco Friendly
Diwali.
A skit
depicting the significance of Diwali as a festival of removing darkness of
ignorance from our minds was staged beautifully. The skit also emphasized on
the hazards of bursting crackers on the environment.
It was
followed by Bhajan Recitation celebrating the spirit and joy of Diwali.
The school management appreciated the efforts of the teachers and students in
presenting the special assembly and urged the students to celebrate Diwali in
an eco-friendly manner.
